Make a Wave, the title of the song, is an energetic Soca offering with a catchy chorus and a Caribbean groove with elements of club beats driving it. The song was written by lead singer Richard Burton and keyboardist Owen “Dynamite” Romeo, who also arranged and produced. Well-known Caribbean music producer and arranger Charles Dougherty, owner of Krystal Sounds Studio in Brooklyn, said “this is one of the few Soca songs I like. It actually has music in it”. Tribal Legacy, based in Brooklyn, NY, is a staple on the “Caribbean music circuit” on Long Island, New Jersey and Connecticut. They released an album, AWOH, ten years ago but, since then, changed members and is now a band with a brand new sound. The members of Tribal Legacy are Richard Burton, lead singer from Trinidad and Tobago, Tricia Cooper, lead singer, also from Trinidad and Tobago, Compton “Junior” Lyken, bass and vocals, from Guyana and bandleader, Owen “Dynamite” Romeo, keyboards and vocals, from Guyana. Dynamite says the band is going for a blend of “Caribbean heat and NY energy” and their live performances result in packed dance-floors and satisfied clients. With the release of this single, Tribal Legacy is determined to make an impact on music consumers in NY and America. Caribbean music is largely imported from the Caribbean Islands and there are very few Caribbean bands based in North America creating original music. Tribal Legacy wants to change that. Make a Wave is available as a digital download from all major music websites and the single is on sale in all major Caribbean music outlets.
